Psychotherapy aims to alleviate psychological distress through talking.
It works towards increasing the individual’s sense of his/her well being. A trusting relationship is established between the client and the therapist who typically meet once a week, twice a week or bi-weekly. Sessions last for 50 minutes and are practiced on a one to one basis, in pairs or even in groups. The environment is supportive, non-judgemental and encourages clients to speak freely and openly. Over time, clients will experience change in a positive way, resolving or mitigating troublesome behaviours, thoughts and emotions.
